FAQ

One-click publish: common questions

How does one-click publish work in Docsio?

Pressing Publish in the editor triggers a build of your documentation site, optimizes assets, deploys to a global CDN, and provisions SSL, all without you touching a terminal. The whole sequence finishes in seconds and returns a live URL you can share immediately. There are no pipelines, no YAML files, and no DevOps steps involved.

Where does Docsio host my published documentation site?

Every published site is delivered through a global CDN with automatic SSL on the docsio.co network. Your site defaults to a free yourproject.docs.docsio.co subdomain. You can also connect a custom domain at no cost on any plan, and Docsio handles certificate provisioning automatically.

Do I need to set up a CI/CD pipeline or hosting account?

No external services or pipelines are required. Docsio builds, deploys, and hosts the site for you as part of the platform. You will not need a GitHub Actions workflow, a Vercel account, or a separate hosting bill. Press Publish and the site is live.

How long does a deploy take from clicking Publish to a live URL?

Most sites finish deploying in under 10 seconds end to end. Building the docs takes a couple of seconds, CDN propagation is near-instant, and SSL is already cached for your domain after the first deploy. Subsequent updates are incremental, so re-publishing is even faster than the initial deploy.

Can I redeploy after making more edits?

Yes, every time you make changes you can press Publish again to push them live. Your URL stays the same and the site updates in place, so any links shared by your team or in your product continue to work. Free projects can publish on demand without rate limits.

What gets included on the published site that is not in the preview?

Docsio injects a per-site llms.txt file at /llms.txt so AI tools can discover your content, generates a full-text search index, and renders the Docsio badge on free plans. Pro plans optionally include the AI chat widget and MCP server. Everything else matches what you see in the live preview pane.
