Per-project pricing

Pro is $60/mo per project. If you have three docs sites, two on Pro and one on Free, you pay $120/mo for the two Pro sites.

Why per-project

Most teams build a docs site for one product. Per-seat pricing forces those teams to pay extra for every editor they add — which discourages getting your team writing docs.

Per-project pricing means:

  • Unlimited team members on every Pro project. Add your whole eng team, every doc author, customer success. Same price.
  • Pay for the products you have, not the people you have. If your team grows from 5 to 50, your bill doesn't change.
  • Easy to compare to alternatives. $60 per site is a clear number. No "starts at $X" with seat overages.

When you have multiple projects

Each project is billed independently. Possible setups:

  • All Free. No payment. Multiple Free projects work; the limit is one Pro project per Free account, then you upgrade.
  • One Pro, rest Free. Pay $60/mo for the polished one, keep others as drafts.
  • All Pro. $60 × number of projects. Quantity discounts available — contact us if you have 5+ Pro projects.

When you have one project but multiple plans

Common scenario: you're testing Docsio. Your real docs project is on Pro, but you also have a Free project for prototyping a new docs structure.

Both work simultaneously on the same account. The Free one stays Free; the Pro one stays Pro. No interference.

Cancellation and proration

Cancel a Pro project from project settings → Billing → Cancel Pro. The project stays Pro until the end of the current billing period, then drops to Free. No proration on cancellations — you keep the time you paid for.

Upgrades within a billing period are prorated. If you upgrade mid-month, you pay a partial first month based on the days remaining.

Pausing

You can't pause a Pro project. Cancel and re-upgrade if you have an extended gap.

Multiple plans within one project

Not supported. A project is either Free or Pro at any time. Per-feature billing isn't available.

Annual pricing

Available on request. ~15% discount vs monthly. Contact support if you want annual billing.

Volume discounts

Five or more Pro projects under the same account: discounts available. Contact support.

Why $60 specifically

It's the breakeven for what we put into a Pro project: hosting, CDN, AI inference for the chat widget, AI agent unlimited usage, premium support response times, and team features.

Comparable hosted docs platforms (Mintlify, GitBook, ReadMe) charge $99-150/mo at similar feature levels. We undercut the segment because we're bootstrapped and our cost structure is leaner.

Receipts and invoicing

Self-serve from project settings → Billing → Invoices. Download or email any past invoice. EU VAT and US sales tax handled automatically through Stripe.
