Sections and navigation

Group related pages and add clear section labels and icons.

Use sections to collect related tasks and icons to support recognizable labels. Readers should understand the navigation even if the icons are hidden.

Create a section

Put related pages in a folder under docs/. Add meta.json with a title and page order. Add index.mdx when the section needs an introduction or a useful set of starting links.

{
  "title": "Getting started",
  "icon": "Rocket",
  "pages": ["index", "quickstart", "installation"]
}

Use icons consistently

Use supported icon names such as Rocket, BookOpen or Settings. Keep the same meaning across the site. Ask the agent to check the available icons instead of pasting CSS classes from a different template.

Avoid unnecessary nesting

Only add another level when it helps people find content. A folder containing one short page may be clearer as a direct link. Check collapsed sections and navigation tabs on mobile before publishing.
