Author MCP
Open the Author MCP section in project settings. The owner can create a named token and copy the generated setup snippet into an MCP-capable client.
The raw token is shown once. Store it securely; anyone holding it can edit that project. Create a separate token per tool or environment and revoke tokens you no longer need.
The server exposes project inspection, content-editing and publishing tools. Tell your agent what to change, review its work, and explicitly ask it to publish when ready. A client may apply tools differently, so inspect the changes instead of assuming it will always ask for confirmation.
Use the settings-generated snippet for the current connection format. The endpoint follows this pattern:
https://docsio.co/api/mcp/author/YOUR_TOKEN
Revoking a token removes its access. Site entitlement and rate limits are also enforced. Never paste an Author MCP token into public documentation.
All features are included during your seven-day trial and with a $10/month site subscription. Existing grandfathered sites keep their earlier access and limits for now.
