Custom domains
Connect a domain you own to your published site.
Use a domain you own, such as docs.example.com, for your published documentation. Custom-domain support and SSL are included during the trial and with a site subscription; domain registration is separate.
Connect a domain
- Open Settings → Publishing for the project.
- Find Custom Domain and enter the hostname you want to use.
- Add the exact DNS records shown by Docsio at your DNS provider.
- Return to Docsio and check the verification status.
- Open the domain after verification and publication succeed.
Use the record type, name and target shown for your project. Do not copy a generic DNS target from an unrelated guide. Avoid changing unrelated records such as your email settings.
Verification and SSL
DNS updates can take time to propagate. Docsio provisions SSL for a verified domain. If verification is pending, compare the records at your provider with the values shown in settings and check for conflicting entries.
If it does not connect
Confirm you control the hostname, that it is not attached to another project, and that the DNS record points to the requested target. Include the domain and verification message when contacting support.
Changing DNS does not publish draft content. Publish the site, then test links, images and HTTPS at the custom address.
