From a URL
Paste your product's URL and let Docsio extract the brand, scrape the pages, and write your docs from scratch.
Give Docsio the sources that explain your product. It uses their content to build a documentation draft with local pages, organized navigation and your branding.
When to use it
Use this path when your product has a public website or existing documentation. A help center or detailed product guide provides more useful material than a short landing page alone.
Start the import
- Choose From URL on the new-project screen.
- Enter the main website URL.
- Add your existing docs or other source pages under Additional URLs.
- Create the project and keep the editor open while setup runs.
Public HTTP and HTTPS pages are supported. Pages behind a sign-in screen, blocked crawlers or private networks may not be readable. Use source files for content that is not publicly accessible.
What Docsio does, step by step
Docsio identifies relevant pages, reads their content and looks for your logo, colors and fonts. The agent uses the available information to create sections and write documentation pages, then checks the site as it builds. Progress and saved changes appear in the conversation.
The goal is a useful documentation draft, not a set of links back to your source site. Review the result against the topics you expected to import, especially when the source has a large help center.
What if my site doesn't have much content?
Add more source material instead of asking the agent to guess. Upload product notes, supported file exports or API specifications. Explain the missing workflow in your message and ask the agent to use that information on the relevant page.
Use these setup instructions to add an installation guide. Keep the existing API reference and link the new guide from Getting started.
What about my logo and brand colors?
Check the extracted brand in the preview. Change the logo URL, colors and fonts in Settings → General, or ask the agent for a specific adjustment. See brand extraction.
Review before publishing
Check page coverage, factual accuracy, navigation, images and code samples. If a source could not be read, supply the missing content and ask the agent to finish that section. Publish once the draft is ready for readers.
