Promo codes

Promo codes apply at the upgrade-to-Pro checkout screen.

Entering a code

  1. Project settings → BillingUpgrade to Pro.
  2. On the Stripe checkout page, click "Add promo code".
  3. Enter the code, click Apply.
  4. The discount appears as a line item under the price.

Continue checkout normally. The discount applies for the duration the code specifies (one month, one year, or forever, depending on the code).

If your code doesn't work

A few common reasons:

  • Code expired. Many codes are time-limited. The error message will say so.
  • Code already used. First-purchase codes only apply on a fresh upgrade, not subsequent ones.
  • Code is for a different product. Codes are scoped to specific Docsio plans (e.g. Pro yearly only). Check what the code is for.
  • Account already has an active discount. Discounts don't stack — only one active at a time.

If you have a partner / affiliate code that should be working but isn't, contact support with the code and your project ID.

Where codes come from

  • Pluvus. If you found Docsio through a Pluvus partner site, your visit comes with an attribution that gives you a discount automatically.
  • Affiliate partners. A few content creators have their own codes. They share them in their content.
  • Conferences and events. Limited-time codes given out at booths or talks.
  • Existing customer referrals. Coming soon — we're building a referral program.

On annual plans

Promo codes that are "X months free" or "X% off forever" apply to annual billing too, prorated appropriately.

Refunds and codes

If a code was applied and you cancel before the discount period ends, the rest of the discount expires with the cancellation — it doesn't transfer to a future subscription.
