Restore an earlier publication
Preview and restore a saved published snapshot.
Use publication history when you need to return to a previously published state. Named documentation versions serve a different purpose: keeping multiple product editions available to readers.
Review the snapshot
Open the history control in the editor and select an earlier publication. Inspect its time and content, then preview it. Keep a copy of any newer draft content you still need before proceeding.
Restore and verify
Select Restore to build and publish the chosen snapshot. Wait for the result, then open the public site and check the pages affected by the rollback.
If GitHub is connected, review its state too. Restoring content is not a promise to rewrite external repository history, DNS settings or subscriptions.
If the restore fails
Read the operation's error and contact support with the project and snapshot details if needed. Do not delete the project or assume that a started restore has already replaced the live site.
