Images and media

Add screenshots, diagrams and videos to your documentation and check them before publishing.

Use screenshots and diagrams where they help readers complete a task. Keep the original assets and verify the result in both the preview and the published site.

Upload via the AI agent

Attach a supported image to the chat and tell the agent where it belongs:

Add this screenshot after the account setup instructions. Give it the alt text "Project settings with the GitHub tab selected".

PNG, JPEG, WebP and GIF can be used as image attachments. SVG source can also be supplied. Current sites keep local image assets under public/img/ and reference them as /img/filename.ext. Older projects may use a different asset folder.

Reference a URL

Use a public HTTPS image address in Markdown:

![Project settings](https://example.com/images/settings.png)

The image must remain publicly reachable. A private storage URL or an expired download link will stop working for readers. Ask the agent to store a local copy when appropriate and when you have permission to use it.

Image markdown

![Project settings](/img/settings.png)

For a specific display width, use an MDX image element:

<img src="/img/settings.png" alt="Project settings" width={720} />

Image size and loading

Resize and compress large screenshots before uploading. Docsio serves published local assets with the site, but do not assume every image will be automatically resized or converted. Check sharpness and page weight on mobile.

Videos

A normal video link opens the destination; it does not automatically become a player. For an inline video, use the provider's public embed URL in an iframe. See embeds.

Logo and favicon

Set Logo URL under Settings → General. Ask the agent to update the favicon or add a local brand asset. See logo and favicon.
